Epworth Retreat & Recreation Centre is a long-standing and unique retreat owned and operated by the Methodist Church of NZ. Epworth offers affordable accommodation and stunning surroundings for a variety of groups.
Epworth is situated on 12 acres of picturesque grounds bordering the Mighty Waikato river with access to boat ramp and water activities. A variety of bedding arrangements from single rooms to open plan bunk rooms for up to 160 people. Minimum 20 people.
Commercial kitchen and smaller downstairs kitchen and dining area with lounge/ TV & projector for use with large Hall used for activities / conferences.
Bring your own bedding although we do provide a mattress protector. We do have linen for hire for a small fee. Catering available or self-cater option.
There is plenty of room for school groups, sports training groups, youth groups, weddings etc. Activities on site: Kayaks / Waterslide / Flying fox / Playgrounds / Giant chess set / Trampoline / Swimming pool. We have our high risk activities contracted out to qualified instructors, POA.
No animals permitted.
Let us work with you for a great deal with cost as will depend on group size, length of stay, exit cleaning or catering costs.
Groups clean and keep the camp tidy during their stay or we can provide cleaning for a fee and also on exit.
If self catering bring your own kitchen cleaning supplies etc.
No loud music between the hours of 11pm – 8am.
